researcher

Adam studied “Molecular Biology and Biochemistry of Organisms”, a Bachelors programme, and later "Animal physiology", a Masters programme, at the Faculty of Science at the Charles University in Prague. In his Bachelors thesis (“Memory Consolidation of Mental Schemata During Sleep”) he investigated the topics of memory consolidation, sleep and the qualitative changes occurring therein. During his Masters studies, Adam became a part of Dr. Kelemen's research group in the National Institute of Mental Health in Klecany. In his diploma thesis, he recorded electrophysiological activity from the rats hippocampus in order to investigate how is social interaction encoded by individual neurons. The results were presented as part of the Czech Neuroscience Society conference in September 2021. Currently in the first year of a PhD programme, Adam plans to continue studying the processing of social memory by neuronal ensembles in wake as well as in sleep.
