Mgr. Kamil Vlček, Ph.D. is a researcher at the Institute of Physiology of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic in Prague and the National Institute of Mental Health in Klecany. He graduated in Zoology at the Faculty of Science and Neuroscience at the 1st Faculty of Medicine of Charles University in Prague. In his work he is mainly interested in the brain basis of spatial navigation in humans, its strategies and related disorders in neurological and psychiatric disorders. He has completed research fellowships at New York University, Collège de France and University College London. He is a lecturer in cognitive psychology at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University and supervises students at several faculties of the UK and the Czech Technical University. He is also actively involved in the environmental sustainability of scientific work and is a member of the SustainableAcademy.cz initiative.
