Stigma prevention and research

The working group deals with research on the stigmatization of people with mental illness. In addition to researching attitudes and experiences with stigmatization and discrimination, its activities also include the implementation and evaluation of antistigma activities in the Czech Republic. The target groups of the research are medical students, medical school students, nurses working in psychiatry, doctors, social workers, people with mental illness, their family members and the general population. This working group cooperates with external entities to evaluate antistigma programs. In September 2017, the five-year Destigmatization project was launched, which focuses on the implementation and evaluation of destigmatization activities in all regions of the Czech Republic. The project is part of the reform of psychiatric care in the Czech Republic.
