Annotation

The project provides psychosocial support, psychotherapy, and practical information to Ukrainian citizens living in the Czech Republic and abroad who have been affected by the war. The service is available to children from the age of 7, as well as to adolescents and adults. Support is provided by a team of Ukrainian-speaking psychotherapists and other professionals, offering help in Ukrainian or Russian.
The aim is to offer timely assistance to individuals experiencing psychological difficulties, stress, challenges in adapting to new conditions, or the consequences of trauma.
Psychosocial support is suitable for individuals who:
experience psychological distress (anxiety, helplessness, sadness, etc.)
are affected by the war, displacement, or the loss of loved ones
need help adapting to new life conditions
are looking for ways to manage stress
require support in other challenging life situations

Psychosocial support does not replace systematic psychotherapy. It has primarily a preventive character but can be followed by long-term therapeutic care or referral to other professional services.

Since February 2024, the service has been available to clients insured with VZP as well as those with other types of health insurance. Consultations are available by prior appointment.

The project also includes educational activities—seminars and workshops focused on mental health support—and a mobile application, Samopomi.ch, which offers basic information, self-assessment tools, and a map of available professional support services.
