Job Description:

  • management and coordination of activities within the Preclinical Research Programme,
  • ensuring the effective operation of the research team and optimal use of infrastructure,
  • leadership, development, and evaluation of research staff, including recruitment and support of internships and placements,
  • creation and implementation of the research and development strategy within the assigned programe,
  • planning, supervision, and evaluation of research projects and activities,
  • fostering interdisciplinary and international collaboration and cooperation across research programmes,
  • contributing to the overall strategy of research and development in line with the institutional goals of NIMH.

Requirements:

  • university degree in natural sciences, pharmacy, or medicine,
  • completed doctoral degree (Ph.D.) or equivalent scientific qualification,
  • significant record of scientific achievements documented by publications,
  • proven experience in leading research teams and managing research projects,
  • responsible and proactive approach to work, independence, flexibility, and teamwork skills
  • excellent command of English, both written and spoken (minimum level C1),
  • experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • cellular and molecular biology,
    • biochemistry,
    • neuropsychological or pharmacological research,
    • behavioural studies,
    • histological and immunohistological analyses,
    • work with epifluorescence and confocal imaging systems,
      tissue culture and related laboratory techniques,
  • Required Competences and Personal Qualities:
    • strategic and conceptual thinking, ability to set and evaluate goals,
    • excellent organisational and planning skills, precision, and consistency,
    • proven leadership and motivational skills, ability to develop and support team members,
    • open and empathetic communication style, ability to provide and receive feedback,

    • natural authority, ethical conduct, and high integrity,
    • emotional stability, self-reflection, and stress resilience
