Mgr. Kateřina Klapilová, Ph.D.
Mgr. Kateřina Klapilová, Ph.D., ECPS, is the Head of the Centre for Sexual Health and Interventions at the National Institute of Mental Health. She earned her Ph.D. in Medical Psychology and Psychopathology from the First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University. She holds the European Certified Psychosexologist certificate awarded by the ESSM and has completed a number of specialised psychotherapeutic trainings. Since 2026, she has served as President of the Czech Society for Sexual Medicine.
She is the guarantor of the accredited PARAFILIK programme and training, which focuses on working with individuals at increased risk of problematic sexual behaviour and has a systemic impact in both the Czech Republic and Slovakia. She regularly conducts representative surveys on sexual health and behaviour in the Czech population, providing reference data for sexual medicine in the Czech Republic.
For more than 15 years, she has been engaged in research in sexual medicine and psychosexology. She has a strong publication record in international peer-reviewed journals and maintains active international collaborations. Her long-term work connects the clinical, research and preventive dimensions of the field. She collaborates with stakeholders across sectors, including healthcare, the Ministry of the Interior, labour and social affairs, justice, and the police. She is the guarantor of Sexhelp Line – the National Helpline for Sexual and Gender Health. She has been a member of the Board of the Czech Society for Sexual Medicine, serving as Scientific Secretary, since 2015.
