The clinic provides time-limited clinical care for patients experiencing a first episode or an early stage of a psychotic disorder. Emphasis is placed on an empathetic approach that motivates patients to engage in appropriate treatment, primarily based on the selection of suitable psychopharmacological medication.

Other approaches that help patients manage psychotic disorders are also provided, including psychoeducation, the option of a consultation with family members and, where necessary, a recommendation for hospitalisation.

Patients are also offered the opportunity to participate in research activities at the National Institute of Mental Health. Accurate assessment and diagnosis are therefore emphasised before patients are admitted to the clinic.
