Annotation
The project aims to strengthen the European response to persistent inequalities faced by transgender and gender-diverse (TGR) persons by transforming existing research and training outputs into a transferable, evidence-based model for inclusive service provision. Building on the EU-funded projects TRAIT (Erasmus+) and SWITCH (REC), the project will update and expand their findings to reflect recent legal and policy changes in Czechia and Slovakia.
Through participatory evidence-gathering and capacity-building activities, the project will collect targeted, practice-oriented data on the wellbeing of TGR persons and their access to services, including migrants and refugees. These findings will directly inform the development of training modules, counselling standards, and policy recommendations, ensuring that project outputs are grounded in real needs and lived experiences.
Implemented jointly in two EU Member States, Czechia and Slovakia, the project will strengthen cross-border collaboration, mutual learning, and convergence with European equality standards. The resulting pilot model will be transferable across Central and Eastern Europe and the Balkans, supporting the implementation of the EU LGBTIQ Equality Strategy (2020–2025), the Gender Equality Strategy, and national anti-discrimination frameworks. The project will therefore contribute to European added value by putting equality and non-discrimination principles into practice, strengthening institutional trust, and promoting policy coherence across Member States.
